The Wilmington HOPE Commission
Improving the quality of life for all Wilmington residents since our inception in 2006
The HOPE Commission has worked to improve the quality of life and reduce crime and violence in the communities that comprise the City of Wilmington. With start-up funding from the City, and donations from business and foundation partners, we embarked on a broad and ambitious journey to address a range of challenges affecting Wilmington residents. Now, after five years of experience and with insights gained and lessons learned, we are moving forward by consistently assessing our direction and developing our strategic focus for the future.
Each of the HOPE Commission’s initiatives has contributed to engendering a sense of hope while inspiring individuals to get involved and make a difference.
Missions Statement: "The HOPE Commission, along with its partners will (1) develop, promote, evaluate, and advocate for meaningful strategies and programs that focus on the revitalization of Wilmington’s underserved communities, and (2) motivate residents and community-based organizations to be actively engaged in the creation of safer, more vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods."
